Born in Cranston, Rhode Island, son of the late Lionel and Edna (Benoit) Brooks, he was raised and educated in Watertown, Massachusetts and was a member of the Watertown High School Class of 1954.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Brooks was employed as a mechanic at the Gillette Company from 1965 until his retirement as a supervisor in 1989.
He was an avid sports fan of the New England Patriots, the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins and also enjoyed working on his computer and playing softball for the company league in his younger years.
He was predeceased by his wife Katherine "Kay" (Caruso) Brooks and will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his three daughters, Patricia A. Dantos, Diane M. DeMarco and Sandra R. Pigott, a son Alfred D. Brooks, Jr., a brother Lionel F. Brooks, Jr., and a sister Shirley Smith, also six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Mr. Brooks Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11a.m. in Holy Angels Church of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish, 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow.
