A. Wayne Satterfield, 61, beloved husband of Mandy Belcher Satterfield, passed away at St. Francis Hospital on December 5, 2021.

Born in Greer, SC, he was the son of the late Alvin Junior Satterfield, Sr. and Inez Moss Satterfield. He was a graduate of the Eastside High School Class of 1978.

Wayne's father began Satterfield Woodworking in 1941, and Wayne started out in his family business sweeping floors and working for his father afterschool and on weekends. He then learned cabinet building, machine operation and repair, installation on the road crews, project management, and the financial side of the business. After his father's retirement, Wayne became President of the company in 1986 and remained an active part of expansion and growth as well as the day-to-day operations. Wayne loved wood and was interested in incorporating reclaimed historic lumber in new construction projects. He had a passion for excellence and left behind enduring beauty throughout the Upstate as well as North Carolina and Georgia.

During his leisure time, Wayne enjoyed restoring old cars, going to car shows, and target shooting at the gun range with his wife, and spending time with his family. He was also a Master Mason in Bailey Lodge No. 146 as well as a Shriner and a member of the Hejaz Temple. Along with Mandy, he was passionate in his support of Safe Harbor – a local organization that assists victims of domestic violence and their children.

In addition to his best friend and wife of 15 years, Wayne's memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of his two daughters, Jenifer Rotton and her husband, Blair, and Lauren Adams and her husband Chad; six grandchildren, Brodie and Abigail Rotton, and Jayden, Jonathan, Julia, and Lily Adams; four siblings, Donna Satterfield, Shawna Collins (Jason), Marisha Boone (Brent), and Alvin Junior Satterfield, Jr. (Tracy). He also leaves his mother-in-law, Mrs. Sue Belcher; two sisters-in-law, Deborah Belcher and Cindy Freeman; six nieces and nephews, Hannah, Duncan, Kaytlin, Taylor, Delaina, Jolee; and many extended relatives, friends, and colleagues.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Scott Satterfield.
