Funeral services for Mr. A. C. "Becks" Coney, of Atlanta, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 11 AM in the C. D. Dudley Memorial Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home at 617 East Jackson Street in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Holly Grove Church Cemetery on Memory Lane in Dublin.
Mr. A. C. Coney was born on Wednesday, March 8, 1939, in Dublin, Georgia, to the late Martha Pearl Thomas Coney and the late Mallie C. Coney Sr. He was the fourth son of eight siblings born from their union.
A. C. joined the Springhill Baptist Church in Dublin at an early age and attended the Laurens County Public Schools. He moved to Miami, Florida, at the age of eighteen and lived there for over 60 years. He was employed as a local delivery driver for a packing center and retired in 2017. He relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, in 2018 when his health started to decline.
He received his Heavenly Father's call on Friday, December 3, 2021. He passed away peacefully after years of battling with Alzheimer's disease.
Mr. Coney was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Martha Pearl Thomas Coney and Mr. Mallie Coney Sr., one sister, Ruby Lee Coney, three brothers, Charlie Coney, Mallie Coney, Jr., and J. B. Coney, four nieces, Joann Coney, Cynthia Seals, Deidre Coney and Tynetta Coney, a nephew, Maurice Coney, and by his grandparents, Sam Thomas, Sr. and Annie Hughes Thomas, and Mr. Ben Coney and Mrs. Fronnie Coney.
