Arthur E. "Art" Heck, 86, of West Lafayette, IN, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 in his residence.
He was born on January 5, 1935 in Wilmington, IL to the late Art and Alpha (Sitter) Heck.
Arthur was a 1953 graduate of Wilmington High School and was a United States Navy veteran who earned his National Defense and Good Conduct Medals for his service from November 4, 1953 until his honorable discharge on October 2, 1957. Arthur married Carol McQuigg on August 3, 1969 in East Lynn, IL and she survives.
Arthur worked in Civil Service in supply management for the US Government. He was a very active member of White Horse Christian Center in West Lafayette and served in many capacities. He enjoyed fishing, wood working and spending time with his family and friends.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two children; three siblings; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 16 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul Heck; brother, John Heck; and three sisters - Anna Ward, Mary Ruth Bullock and Dora Wilson.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette, IN 47906.
Service will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at White Horse Christian Center, 1780 Cumberland Avenue, West Lafayette, IN with Pastor Jeff Johns officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at East Lynn Cemetery, 40718 North 770 East Road, East Lynn, IL 60960.
