My name is Lillian Ernestine Peay Massey, better known as "Doll Baby." I was born on Sept. 21, 1937, in Lugoff. My parents, Willie and Mattie Peay, preceded me in death. I attended school in South Carolina and graduated. I moved to New York City and was gainfully employed as a store manager at Alexander's Department Store for 25 years.

I met and married Robert O. Massey, who preceded me in death. We had two children, Vincent Dumont and Samanthia Massey. I departed life on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, in my hometown, Lugoff.

I leave to cherish my precious memories: my daughter, Samanthia; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Truesdale; a host of nieces, nephews, family members and close friends.

In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 44 Boulware Road, Lugoff.
