OBITUARY: Frank E. Landsberger Sr., July 7, 1944 ~ December 2, 2021 - reprinted from the Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel website

Frank E. Landsberger Sr., age 77 of rural Hastings, died suddenly on Thursday afternoon, December 2, 2021. Frank was spending time outdoors cutting wood when he passed, something he truly loved doing.

Frank Edward, the son of George and Rose (Taube) Landsberger, was born on July 7, 1944, at home in Hampton. He attended grade school in New Trier and graduated from Hastings High School with the class of 1962. Frank then enlisted in the United States Army and was later granted an Honorable Discharge. On November 28, 1964, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Victoria Fox, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton, and they were blessed with six children and recently celebrated fifty-seven years of marriage. After their marriage, Frank and Victoria lived briefly in Hampton prior to purchasing the Ficker farm. They farmed, milked cows, and enjoyed tending to their vegetable gardens for many years, and in 1988, they sold a portion of the farm and built their dream home across the street. Frank was also an over-the-road truck driver for many years prior to retiring from Cemstone. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, watching the birds, deer, squirrels and chipmunks in his backyard, cutting wood, fishing, and traveling, especially to Port Washington, Michigan to salmon fish. Frank was a very simple and quiet man, that always had a good one-liner ready.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Jr.; son, Tony; father and mother-in-law, Arnold and Rita (Rother) Fox and Jerry Stubbs; and by his two sisters, Rosalie Bauer and Delores Peine.

Frank is survived by his wife, Victoria; children, Kevin (Bonnie) Landsberger, Denise Kelley (fiancé, Steve Perley), Frank Landsberger Jr. (fiancé, Aimee Radman), Kelly Landsberger (Leila Estoque), and Michelle (Eric) Johnson; grandchildren, Neill (Chrissy) Kelley, Micheal Landsberger, Skyler Turek, Emerald Kelley, Landon Johnson, and Logan Johnson; sister, Irene Smith; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier, with Father Michael Tix officiating. Interment with Military Honors provided by Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210 will follow at the parish cemetery.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., and to a reception immediately following the graveside service, all at the church on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, Frank's family requests memorial trees be planted in his memory, or donations be given.

Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
