Rev. Julius Preston Branham Junior ("J.P.") of Asheville NC, died Sunday, November 28, 2021.

Julius was born on June 2,1941 in Louisville, KY. He attended Louisville Male High School and graduated from Morehead State University in 1964 with a B.A. in Music Education. JP then served as Director of Bands for the University of Guelph in Ontario Canada. He later became the Director of Bands for Riverview High School in Warsaw, Ohio. Following relocation to Asheville, NC, he finished his career by establishing Youth for Christ of WNC where he served as Executive Director for 25 years until his retirement in 2004. He touched the lives of many students and adults during these years and will be deeply missed.

JP loved friends, family, music, the Ohio State Buckeyes, travel, and the Lord. Memories shared by he and Sarah include having the honor of spending 2 New Year's Eves in Times Square, singing on the Tonight Show, marveling at the art of the Sistine chapel, visiting Notre Dame Cathedral, seeing Barbara Streisand on Broadway, listening to cow bells in Switzerland, numerous band trips, concerts and competitions, and exploring many countries and oceans on 12 cruises. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sarah Heisey Branham; his son Jeff Branham (Maria) of Oak Ridge, NC; daughter Jen Branham of Asheville, NC; four grandchildren, Luke (Annika) Branham, Sidney Branham, Sarah Harrell and Allie Harrell all of Oak Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents Julius Preston Branham and Edna Massengill Branham.

A memorial service will be held at Bent Creek Baptist Church, 1554 Brevard Road, Asheville, NC 28806 on Friday, December 3rd at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends directly after the memorial service.
