Judith Cathers Smith was born on August 19, 1943, in Laurel County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Charlie and Virgie Cornelius Cathers. She was united in marriage to Floyd Smith, who preceded her in death. She is survived by three children, Cheryl Meeker, Rodney Hibbitts (Judy) and Dorissa Dotson (Greg), all of London, and eight grandchildren, Nate Hibbitts, Chelsea Meeker, Mollie Dotson, Emma Hibbitts, Josh Hibbitts, Gracie Dotson, Chase Dotson and Bo Dotson, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by three siblings, Marvin Cathers, Geraldine Day and Gilbert Wayne Cathers.
She was a retired assistant for the Laurel County Board of Education and a member of Carmichael Community Church.
Judith Cathers Smith departed this life at her residence on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, being 78 years, 3 months and 11 days of age.
Funeral services for Judith Cathers Smith will be conducted at 3 PM Saturday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at East Bernstadt.
