Waco - Bela Jean Dove died on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in Waco, Texas. A memorial service will be Saturday, December 4 at 1 PM at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Waco.
Bela "Billye" was born on February 19, 1927, in San Angelo to Leslie and Elsie Allen. She attended Eden High School where she played tennis and was drum major. In 1949, she married Bob Dove and they had two sons, Marc and Mathew. Billye enjoyed being a homemaker; her family remembers the barbecue ribs, chocolate chip cookies, and playing cards and dominos with her. She and Bob had beautiful yards wherever they lived. The final years of Bob's life, Billye lived in Eden amid her caring and helpful family. A few years after Bob's death, Billye moved to Waco and enjoyed attending many Baylor events with her Waco family and friends.
Billye was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother and two sisters, Leta Mae and Rachel. She is survived by her sons Marc and wife, Julia; Matt and wife, Kathy; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Our family appreciates all the love and care that Mary, Right at Home, Bluebonnet Hospice and Lakeridge Healthy Living provided for Billye during her last days.
