Kent Alan Allred, 54, of Pittsboro passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 7, 2014.
He was born July 25, 1959, in Asheboro, N.C. He was a lifelong resident of Pittsboro, and was the son of Adrian and Harolene "Tot" Allred. He met his wife, Rita in 1995 and they married April 18, 2000. Kent was a self-employed payroll accountant and computer software developer - A.T.I. Payroll Services. He was a member of Pittsboro Baptist Church and served as a youth counselor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kimber Leigh Pilkington, and brothers, Kyle Morris Allred and Kirk Bryan Allred.
The visitation and funeral service will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014, with the visitation beginning at 1:00 PM at Pittsboro Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Dr. Tripp Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in memory of Kent Allred, to UNC Hospice, P.O. Box 1077, Pittsboro, N.C. 27312.
