Bessie was the daughter Thomas Mounterville and Elsie Vernon Snow Woodard, fourth of nine children. She married Francis Stephen Beck November 02, 1918, in Brookhaven, Bell County, Texas. They had three children: Bernice M., Evelyn, and T. E. Mrs. Beck had lived in Killeen for 66 years. She and her husband operated Beck's Grocery Store in Sparta from 1932 to 1936 and then operated Beck's Grocery Store in Youngsport. They were ranchers for 40 years. She was a member of Maxdale Ladies Club and of Youngsport Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis S. Beck in 1957.

Obituary:
Bessie W. Beck, 84, of Killeen died Tuesday in a Killeen hospital. Services will be at 2 pm. Thursday at Youngsport Church of Christ with Raymond Chapman officiating.

Burial will be in Killeen City Cemetery. Mrs. Beck was born in Snowball, Ark. and had lived in Killeen for 66 years.
She and her husband operated Beck's Grocery Store in Sparta from 1932 to 1936 and then operated Beck's Grocery Store in Youngsport. They were ranchers for 40 years.

She was a member of Maxdale Ladies Club and of Youngsport Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis S. Beck in 1957.


Survivors are two sons, B. M. Beck and T. E. Beck, both of Killeen; a daughter, Evelyn Ray of Killeen; three brothers, Oscar Woodard of Green Valley, Ariz. Ben Woodard of Delano, Calif. and Elmer Woodard of Vernonia, Ore; three sisters, Dottie Cave of St. Helens, Ore. Bertie Ward of San Pablo, Calif. and Gladys Walls of Salinas, Calif. seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Youngsport Church of Christ building fund.
