Dixie Lee Hawkins, better known simply as "Momma" by her children, departed her family on November, 22, 2021.

Dixie was born in Watertown, South Dakota to Georgia Gustafson and Matthew York. She graduated from Lead High School in 1956 and went on to become an L.V.N. As an L.V.N., Dixie enjoyed sharing her favorite stories from her time in nursing school with the "sisters." She provided care and comfort with a personal touch to each of her patients.

Dixie loved her career as an L.V.N., however her greatest passion in life was her family. She was a mother to Cheryl Stead, Bonnie Smith, and John Hawkins. She raised her children with unending love and grace.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Stead, Bonnie Smith and husband, Billy, and John Hawkins and wife, Jodie; grandchildren, Kristina MacEachern, Emily Collins, Russell Tucker, Brian Tucker, John Luke Hawkins; several great-grandchildren; and siblings, Eddie Christensen and wife, Linda, Raberta Duplantis and husband, Bob, and Bill Christensen and wife, Lynnell.

Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, December 2, at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Dr., Arlington, 76012. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
