Mrs. Orville Decker, 71, 410 11th St., died Monday at a Sioux City hospital following a short illness. The former Myrtle Babcock, Mrs. Decker was born in Farnhamville, Iowa, May 13, 1905. She was graduated from Farnhamville High School, and was a 1925 graduate of Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was married to Orville "Jack" Decker Nov. 27, 1926, in Riceville, Iowa. She taught school in Farnhamville prior to 1928 when the couple moved to Chicago. The Deckers returned to Farnhamville in 1930 and moved to Sioux City in 1936. Mrs. Decker was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors are the widower; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Jacquelyn) Owens of Iroquois, S. D., and Mrs. Willard (Barbara) Criss of Homer, Neb.; a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Zelda) Wolfe of Riceville; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Heaton-Westcott Funeral Home. The Rev. Phillip K. Caldeen, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Turner, Noel Boone, Elton Gretta, Clarence Knuden, Ed Higman and Roger Nichols. A memorial in Mrs. Decker's name has been established at the First Baptist Church.
