Hattie was the 6th of 6 children of William Thomas Bowers and Susan Adeline Decker.

Mrs. Hattie Ferrell, 76, resident of Williams street, Johnstown, died Sunday at 8 p.m. in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grover Sunkle, 75 Rosebud avenue, Newark, She had been ill several weeks and Saturday pneumonia developed.

The daughter of Thomas and Susan (Decker) Bowers, she was born June 14, 1869 in Sunbury and had lived in the Johnstown vicinity 25 years. Two sons, Charles Ferrell of Granville road, Beverley of Newark, seven daughters, Mrs. Ralph Geer of Alexandria vicinity, Mrs. Wade Dysart of near Pataskala, Mrs. Leroy Kent of Alexandria, Mrs. Arthur Neiman of Cleveland, Mrs. Sunkle of Newark, Mrs. Mildred Smith of Columbus, Mrs. Anna Clouse of Gahanna, survive; also 38 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Robison of Columbus Grove, Mrs. Minnie Young of Lancaster.

The body will be returned to the Sunkle home Tuesday afternoon from the Lloyd Crouse funeral home and Thursday morning will be moved to the funeral home again where services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. with burial in Otterbein cemetery, Westerville.
