Frank Edward McCoy
January 13, 1952 - October 18, 2021

Mr. Frank Edward McCoy departed his life on October 18, 2021, while under the care of hospice and his wife at home. He was the sixth of eight children, born in Halifax County, North Carolina to the late James and Mattie McCoy. Mr. McCoy gave his life to the Lord at an early age. After graduation from Philips High School in 1971, he began his career with CSX Railroad.

On May 22, 1976, Frank married Linda Faye Parker, his high school sweetheart, who never left his side until he took his rest.

He was known for his zest for life- enjoying activities like bowling in the competitive league, participating in social clubs, fishing with his grandsons and friends, and attending church. "Rabbit" was known for his quick wit, generous nature, and "know-how" whether being a walking/talking map who was able to get you from coast to coast from his years traveling with the railroad or connected to the "fix it" person for any job you needed. Rabbit could only hear there was a need before he would quickly jump to action to be support for his family and friends. This notion of servitude led to his participation in civic organizations like the Masonic lodge until his decline in health.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brothers- Clinton Earl McCoy, Chester Lee Warren, MacDonald Warren, and sisters- Lucille Warren Sutton and Doretha Celeste Johnson-Mosley, and his daughter- Chilitia Nicole McCoy. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Linda McCoy; daughter, Shakeerah McCoy; a very, special nephew, raised as his son, Jayquan Rashad Pittman; four beautiful grandchildren: Anthony, Andrew, Kennedy, and Kendal McCoy; Three sisters: Minnie Nolan (Roger) of Baltimore, Maryland, Christine McCoy of Whitakers, North Carolina, and Queen Taylor (Clifton) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
