Gail passed away peacefully on November 21, 2021 at his home in Morgan, Utah.

He was born on May 29, 1931 to Owen and Margaret Wardell in Rockport, Utah.

Gail was a Marine and served in the Korean War. He was very proud of his service to his country.

He married Arva Rae Summers on September 3, 1952 in Elko Nevada. They later divorced.

Later he met LaJuana Abbott and they spent the last 45 years together.

Gail is survived by sister, JoAnn Holyoke and brother, Jay Wardell. He was preceded in death by sisters: Dorothy Marchant, Colleen Crandall and Romona Atkinson.

Gail's children are Joni (Jeff) Cox, Jeff (Ann) Wardell, Roger (Lori) Wardell and Richard (Paula) Wardell; 14 grandkids and 44 great grandkids and 2 great-great grandkids.

Dad enjoyed growing up in Rockport and was always sharing stories of family and friends and the good times he enjoyed. He also enjoyed hunting with his friends Carl and Stanley and loved his trips to Wendover and Mesquite for a little gambling and trips to the horse races.

A special thanks to Corey, Whitney, Tina, Cassie, Matt, and Tasha for their excellent service in taking care of Gail.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the South Morgan Cemetery.
