While Charlotte does not have a grave marker, she is buried with her husband, William Mitchell, and daughter Jane Libby Mitchell. Her name is clearly marked on Jane's grave which is immediately next to William's. The Hale Cemetery records indicate that it was a common occurrence to omit wives' names from markers, but that there is an indentation for Charlotte, and there is in fact a small (perhaps 6"x6") white stone next to William's stone, with no carvings on it.

Charlotte was the daughter of William Sprague and Rachel McIntire of Phippsburg, and is a descendant of Mayflower passengers John Alden, William Brewster, and Richard Warren. After William passed, she went to live with her daughter Rachel (Mitchell) Malcolm, who is buried right across from her with her husband Elbridge. The West Bath Historical Society has photos of their house.

The Phippsburg Historical Society has thoroughly documented information on the Spragues and their history.
