Raymond Bernon Benton, 78, of Centerville, GA, died November 6, 2021, at Heart of Georgia Hospice in Perry following a lengthy illness. He was born October 8, 1943, in Wheeler County, GA, to the late Bernon and Fannie Foster Benton. Raymond grew up in Glenwood where he attended Glenwood School and played basketball. He was a decorated US Army veteran, serving in Korea, Germany, Panama, and two tours in Vietnam, and he was awarded two Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts. He retired from Robins Air Force Base after 34 years of civilian service. Raymond served many years with the Masons and Shriners and loved working to help the Children's Hospital. He enjoyed his Hunting Club friends, and he loved his Lord, his Country, and his family.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ranny Benton.
