James M. Havener, well known civil war veteran, died at 5:30 o'clock Sunday morning at his home in LaPlace. He would have been eighty years old in March. His death was due to the infirmities of age.
Mr. Havener was born in Ohio, March 6, 1846. He served throughout the civil war as a member of Company E. of an Illinois Cavalry regiment.
The funeral was set for 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Methodist church in La Place.
