This wife of Allen's may be Elizabeth Dow Tenney (daughter of Thomas Tenney and sister of Mary P. Tenney) whom he married July 23, 1917 in St Louis County, Minnesota. One newspaper article said her name was Alice but I think that was an error.

Elizabeth was 59 and living by herself as a widow. She was a public schoolteacher.

I haven't been able to find her after this 1930 Census.
