Billy Carol Jones, 87, of Keller, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at his home.

He was born November 29, 1933, in Alpena Pass to Charlie Mac and Pearl Mary Wood Jones. In 1954 he married the love of his life, Delorisene Mae (Judy) Wood at First Baptist Church in Harrison and they were happily married until she passed in 1969. He was a loving husband, father to two wonderful daughters and a grandfather.

After briefly attending the University of Arkansas, he was drafted and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force to serve in the Korean War from 1953-1957. His flight operations position took him to Texas, Mississippi, Maine and Guam. He started his career young, working for Montgomery Ward in 1950 when he was still in high school. For 33 years, he held several positions in the company that moved him to stores throughout Nebraska, Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. After retiring from Montgomery Ward, Bill enjoyed going into business with his older brother James, managing various businesses in New Orleans and San Francisco.

After years of travel and moving, Bill settled in Keller, Texas to be close to his family for the last 22 years. Bill will endearingly be remembered for his love of golf, onery twinkle in his eye, southern sayings, nicknames and the joy he brought to those around him.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, John Charles Jones and James Harold Jones; and son-in-law, William J. Cashman Jr.

He is survived by his daughters, Lynette Cashman and Lisa Evans and her husband, Joel; and his grandchild, Lindsey Lee and her husband Kevin.

A graveside side service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Maplewood Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Little Rock Air Force Base Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
