Elmer Hubert Ruehlmann
Elmer H. Ruehlmann, aged 92, died peacefully on February 25, 2017 at his home in Newcastle. Elmer was the beloved husband of the late Crystal F. (nee Fogle), and loving father to Judy (Richard) Andrews, David S. (Judy) Ruehlmann, and Janet (Paul) Lopuski. He will be greatly missed by his 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Elmer was born February 23, 1925, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Elmer graduated from Western Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1943. He served as a Captain in the Army Air Corps' 8th Air Force in World War II, during which he flew as navigator on 34 combat missions. He later graduated from the University of Cincinnati where he was an active member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
Elmer spent his career with Procter & Gamble, first as comptroller, then moving into sales. He was an avid golfer for most of his life. Elmer also enjoyed camping. When he retired, he and Crys moved to Sequim, becoming active in Sequim Community Church, Kiwanis, and serving on the board of Port Angeles Symphony. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
