RIDGWAY - Cheryll Joann Bennett, age 55, a resident of Ridgway for 14 years, died on Monday, July 5, 1999 culminating a long battle with cancer.
Cheryll Joann Boyer was born on June 21, 1944, the daughter of Dale Boyer and Eva (Campbell) Boyer.
Cheryll lived her journey well, dedicating her life to the caring and nurturing of children and their families.
As a director at the San Juan Guest Ranch at Ridgway for the last 14 years, she said she was truly blessed by the opportunity of having the world's finest people brought to her door.
Cheryll's greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and the guests who came to the ranch.
She is survived by two daughters: Shannon Bennett, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Teresa Brown, of Gunnison; and two grandchildren the pride of her life: Derrik and Sarah Brown, of Gunnison.
Other family survivors include three brothers: Paul Boyer, of Basalt, Colo. and Toledo, Ore.; Donald Boyer, of Basalt; Ralph Boyer, of Montrose; and two sisters: Lois Ecklund, of Ithaca, N.Y.; and Barbara Jay-Bullard, of Delta.
Family Memorial Services to honor and celebrate Cheryll's life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled under the direction of Montrose Valley Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to: Hospice of the Uncompahgre Valley, Delta Project, In Memory of Cheryll J. Bennett, P.O. Box 1804, Montrose, Colo. 81402-1804.
