She was the daughter of Harmon and Susan (May) Crigger. She was married twice. She first married Johnny Hankins at Williamson, WV on February 5, 1910. They had two sons Clyde and Clarence Hankins. Johnny passed away January 9, 1914 from Wasting Disease or Tuberculosis. She remarried to Cummings Hatfield at Williamson, WV on July 22, 1914. She passed away in between 1915 and 1920 as she does not appear in the 1920 census.
