He lived most of his life in Urich where he was employed with the Gas Service Company as a serviceman, retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of the United States Army. On December 12, 1957, he married the former Donna May Bailey. she survives of the home. J. B. loved going to the lake and following the local car races. He especially enjoyed following the career of Tracy Wolf. Additional survivors are one son, Terry Thurston, Clinton; two daughters, Kathy Dulaban and her husband Derrell, Clinton, and Mindy Nash and her husband Matt, LaTour; three grandchildren, Sarah Dulaban, Carissa Dulaban and Bailey Nash; two brothers, Bob Thurston, Independence, and Sam Thurston and his wife Helen, Knob Noster; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Smith, Warrensburg, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday, September 4, at Consalus-Bradley Funeral Home, Urich. Burial was in Urich Cemetery.
