Eloise was born April 1, 1942, in Johnston County daughter of the late Thomas Elmer and Lue Esther Lee Barbour. She was also preceded by her husband, Clarence "Doc" Lee West; daughter, Diane West; son, Jeffrey Lee West; sisters. Thelma G. Combs, Doris Faye Elmore; brothers, John Charles Barbour, and Billy Ray Barbour.
Her life revolved around her son, Jeffrey. They were inseparable and now they are together in heaven.
Eloise was a member of Grace Chapel Church for many years. Although Eloise was a homemaker she would go with her late son Jeffrey to the various food pantry's and spread much love and joy. She was a strong woman of faith, who never complained. She would offer companionship to those who may not be able to get out of the house or who were bed ridden. She loved and cared for everyone. Her joy for life and her indomitable spirit kept her pushing. Eloise was a faithful servant of God who will truly be missed by everyone that knew her.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021, at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pat Williford officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Church Cemetery. Eloise is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
