AllaMae Bennett Jensen
May 28, 1931 - November 9, 2021 (age 90)

After 90 years of love, laughter and service, AllaMae Bennett Jensen passed away on November 9, 2021 in Cedar City, Utah. She was born May 28, 1931 in Sunnyside, Utah, to Milton Leroy Bennett and Hazel Emma Turner. She graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City where she enthusiastically sang in the choir. She attended Westminster College. Later, she conducted music at Primary Children's Hospital. She met Elwood Stanley Jensen when her brother Merle brought him home on leave from the Navy. They married on June 25, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. For the next 67 years, she was his loving companion and kept him entertained with her witty sense of humor.

AllaMae loved working at North Elementary as a teacher's aide where she made many friends (children and coworkers). She volunteered for many years at Valley View Medical Center and actively served others in her church congregation and community in countless ways. She loved to reach out to all she met with a friendly smile and a little humor to brighten their day. She enjoyed readings, poetry, crocheting, quilting and flower gardening. She always spoiled her grandchildren and great grandchildren with lovingly crafted letters and packages of goodies and gifts. Ever the thoughtful hostess, she left her loved ones with warm memories of traditions and delicious food made especially for them. Some of her most cherished time was spent on a full-time mission to Munich, Germany and the Joseph Smith Memorial Center in Salt Lake City. She also served faithfully with her husband for five years in the Family History Center in Cedar City as well as in the St. George Temple. Her steady faith motivated her long life of selfless service.

She is survived by her husband, Elwood Stanley Jensen, her younger brother, Merle Bennett (Linda), and four children: KristyLynn Spencer (Robert), Brian Jensen (Bonnie), LeeAnn Green, Darren Jensen (Michelle). Her 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 siblings: Viola Croft (C.M.), Louise Bennett (Ned), Alvin Bennett (Louella), and Lavon Thompson (George).

A viewing will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 5:00-700 at Southern Utah Mortuary, (190 N. 300 W. Cedar City, Utah). A family graveside service will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Cedar City Cemetery. Interment will be in Cedar City Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
