Husband, father, son, brother and dear friend, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 1, 2019. Born in Halifax on December 28, 1947, he was the son of the late Orion and Gladys (Rudolph) Hartling. Bert is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon (Fowler); children, Adam (Carina Gjerdrum), Scott (Nancy Wingfield), Amy (Edwin) Gaskin and Sarah (Mark) Askeland; siblings, Orion (Judy) and Gladys (Rene) Leclerc. He was predeceased by his brother, Hubert (Anne). He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Bert was a proud grandfather to Simon, Freya, John, Ben, Ella, Hannah, Olivia, Sawyer, Max, and Brody, who loved him dearly.
