Annie Mae Parks Cox, 64, of Chesapeake VA, passed away peacefully in her home November 8, 2021.


Mrs. Cox was born in Portsmouth VA on February 25, 1957 and was the daughter of the late Elbert Curtis Parks, Jr. and Gertrude Elizabeth Beere Parks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Larry Parks.


Surviving is her husband of 45 years, Jim Cox; son, Jimmy Cox (Tracy) of Chesapeake VA; and two grandsons, Ian and Isaac Cox. Also surviving are three sisters, Linda Cahill (Casey) of Eure, Jackie Williams (Gerald) of Sunbury, and Rosemary Harrell of Hertford; a brother Curtis Parks (Pearl) of Elizabeth City; sister-in-law Rebecca Parks of Gates; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.


Ann was a retired Supply Technician with the US Navy and enjoyed her retirement by spending time with her family, especially with her two grandsons whom she truly adored. Ann was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind many beautiful memories for everyone to cherish.


Interment will take place at West Lawn Cemetery.
