Marie was born Dec. 11, 1920, in East St. Louis, Illinois, the daughter of Juan and Elizabeth Hopper Aquino. She attended schools in Danville and Georgetown. She worked at Walgreen's in the accounting department until retirement. Marie was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville. She loved gardening, dancing, roller skating, fishing, camping, and most of all, her family.
Marie married Charles Harold Mitchell on Jan. 21, 1938, in Danville. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1990.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy (Jerry) Garland of Tilton, Wanda Zimmerman of Kansas City and Norma Tevebaugh of Danville and two sons, Robert (Patty) and David (Donna) Mitchell, both of Tilton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Charles John; three brothers Henry, Ray and Steve Aquino and one sister, Belva Foley.
