DALLAS — Charles Donald King Sr., 83, of Cameron died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 in a Temple hospital. Cryptside funeral services and entombment were held Saturday, Dec. 8, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Dallas.
Mr. King was born Sept. 7, 1924 in Dallas to Carey Gray and Elizabeth Tinkle King Sr. He was a retired insurance underwriter. Mr. King graduated from Highland Park High School in 1942, attended Texas A&M University and graduated from the University of Texas in 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy and was an active member of the Cameron Country Club where he served as past president and different terms on the board of directors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Cozart King in 1996.
Survivors are two sons, Charles Donald King Jr. of Cameron, Douglas P. King of Cameron; daughter, Martha King of Dallas; brother, Dr. Carey G. King Jr. of Dallas; sister, Sarah Wilson of Kerrville; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
