Carol Frank Obituary

1936-2021 Carol Lee Frank, a long time resident of Fullerton, Orange Co., CA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, 3 Nov 2021 in Yorba Linda, CA at 85 years of age. Carol was born on 22 Oct 1936 in Winner, Tripp Co. SD.

She was the first child of Herman Kramer "Jim" Frank & his wife, Alice Elizabeth (Lingo) Frank of Ideal Tp., Tripp Co., SD. She lived in Ideal Tp. until the age of five.

At that time her family moved to a ranch 15 miles south of Highmore, Hyde Co., SD. Her first 8 years of school were spent in East Dewey & Stephan Rural Schools.

In 1950 her family moved into town & she attended Highmore High School where she graduated in 1954. Her Father, H. K. Jim Frank, had passed away in January of that same year.

Carol started her banking career at the First State Bank in Highmore, SD for 2 years before moving with her widowed mother & four siblings to Fullerton, Orange Co., CA in 1957. She then worked ten years for First Western Bank in Santa Ana.

The next 27 years were spent working for United California Bank, First Interstate Bank & Wells Fargo Bank in Anaheim. She retired early, at 58 yrs. of age, and thoroughly enjoyed her time traveling, as well as pursuing her hobby of Genealogy.

Carol enjoyed many trips to Europe (Germany, Austria, France, England, Ireland & others) as well as spending 3 weeks a year in the Fall in New England with her younger siblings & families.

She also enjoyed her frequent trips to South Dakota to visit with her many cousins & old friends there. Carol was a valued & longtime member of the Orangethorpe United Methodist Church, having joined upon moving to Fullerton in 1957. She sang in the choir there for 58 years. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves behind her four siblings, Jan (John) Steinleitner of Placentia, Roger (Judy) Frank of Placentia, Larry ( Nancy) Frank of Idaho and Glenda Frank Moser of Rancho Mirage.

She was the beloved Aunt of 9 nieces & nephews and many Grand Nieces & Nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held for family & close friends at 10:30 a.m. on 18 Dec 2021 at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton, Orange Co., CA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the American Cancer Society or another charity of choice.
