With consent of "the mother" she was "bound unto William Montgomery, of Peter, until she arrives to the age of sixteen; he being present in court and accepts thereof and engages to learn her to read the Bible distinctly and to write a legible hand and when free to give her a decent suit of apparel consisting of gown and petties of country cloth, a pair of shoes and stockings, a silk bonnet, a silk handkerchief, two white shifts and a spinning sheel and a pair of cotton cords."
