"Mildred P. Sipes, 78, Hewitt, Texas, formerly of this area, died Feb. 21, 1991, at a hospital in Waco, Texas. She was born in Forbes, Mo., and lived in Kansas City most of her life before moving to St Joseph in 1988. She moved to Hewitt in 1990. Mrs. Sipes was a member of the Forbes Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Jimmie Sipes of Bettendort, Iowa, and Gary Sipes of Hewitt; two brothers, Doyle Sipes of Portland, Ore., and Leroy Sipes of Kansas City; two sisters, Hazel Sakellaris and Ruby Whitmore of St Joseph; six grand-children and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Newcomer's White Chapel; burial in White Chapel Cemetery." The Kansas City Star, February 24, 1991
