Eldon Jack Edgin, 84, of Dallas, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020. He was born on May 18, 1936, in Ozark, Arkansas, to the late Raymond and Ruby (Chandler) Edgin, and grew up on a small farm. Eldon was a 1954 graduate of Ozark High School and went on an academic scholarship to Arkansas Tech for two years before transferring to UT Arlington, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1965. In 1972, Eldon received his Master's Degree in Engineering Management from SMU. He worked several years for Texas Instruments as an engineer, specializing in manufacturing. He retired from NEC in 1994 where he had been Vice President and General Manager of Manufacturing. Following retirement, Eldon served as an engineering consultant for The Thomas Group until he left to become President of Interlink Technologies.

Being committed and passionate about his work over the years, Eldon also relished his time away from work. He enjoyed fishing and was an expert genealogist for many years. He was a member of the Richardson HAM Radio Club, and enjoyed his time spent as a HAM Radio Operator. Eldon owned and managed an apartment complex and several duplexes in Irving for many years with his best friend Don McGuire. A man of few words and of the Methodist faith, his actions always spoke louder than his words. He was a gentle and humble man who cherished his family above all else. Eldon will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

In addition to his parents, Raymond Festus and Ruby Alice Edgin, Eldon was preceded in death by his older infant sister, Helen Marie Edgin; and younger brother, Harley Allen Edgin. He is survived by his wife of 63 years whom he met on a blind date, Janice Ruth Deaton Edgin; son, Eldon Jack Edgin, Jr., daughter-in-law, Lora Sue Edgin, of Frisco, TX; grandchildren, Leslie Nicole Haight, Jack Cuneo Haight, Benjamin Alexander Edgin; nephew, Kemper Edgin and great nephew, Wesley Edgin of Ozark, AR; and niece, Dwana Phillips and husband, Mike Phillips, of Cleburne, TX.
