Mrs. Thedious Evon Gill Brown, 62, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 11, 2007, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

A native and life-long resident of Pierce County, she was attended Liberty Christian Church. Mrs. Brown was a nurse and had worked with Memorial Hospital (now Satilla Regional Medical Center) in the pediatric department and had also worked at Ware Manor (now Waycross Rehabilitation). She was a daughter of the late Riley Allen & Cora Mae Crosby Gill and was also preceded in death by her husband, James Danny Brown; a sister, Isabelle Tyre and two brothers, Midge Gill & Clyde Gill.

Survivors are a daughter and son-n-law, Teresa & Joe Godwin of Blackshear; a son and daughter-n-law, Jamie & Kim Brown of Chase City, VA; a sister and brother-n-law, Diane & Mitchell Walker of Offerman; four brothers and three sisters-n-law, Riley & Laverne Gill of Alma and Alvin & Corrine Gill, Thomas "Pete" Gill and Floyd & Mary Gill all of Offerman; a sister-n-law, Josie Gill of Blackshear; a brother-n-law, Buddy & Willie Mae Brown of Quitman; 5 grandchildren, D. J. & Elizabeth Godwin and Angie & Shayne English all of Blackshear and Maggie Brown, Jasmine Brown and Kyleigh Brown all of Chase City and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be held Thursday afternoon, December 13, 2007, at 2:00 o'clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Interment will be in the New Home Cemetery.

Nurses and staff of the Pierce County Nursing Home are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers and should meet at the funeral home by 1:30 Thursday.

Visitation for Mrs. Brown will be held Wednesday from 6 until 9 pm at the funeral home.
