A private burial at the Lafayette Cemetery is planned for Arvida Frederica Andersen, who died in Sacramento on July 19, 2002. Arvida was born in her family's residence on Clipper Street in San Francisco on June 2, 1909 to Nils Gynther Andersen and Hilma Bergstrom Andersen. At a young age she moved with her family to Walnut Creek, where she lived o their walnut ranch until her retirement and where she operated Arvida's Beauty Salon for many years. Following her retirement, she enjoyed 20 years in Paradise, CA. Arvida was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Arnold and Armand, and her sister Augusta Andersen Richardson. She is survived by her brother George Andersen (Ella Verdell) of Roseburg, OR. She will also be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, Karen Hansen Nunes (Robert), Janice Martin (Michael Baird), David Richardson (Diana), Marsha Halvorson (Ted), and Clayton Andersen (Irene), and 14 great-nephews and nieces.
