Carson Junior Burt, 68, of Peru, IN, passed away at 9:55am on Friday, October 29, 2021 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born on May 31, 1953 in Nettleton, Mississippi to the late Carson Burt and Mary Ann (Birks) Burt.

Carson never married or blessed with children. He was an avid fan of boxing, basketball, playing guitar and drag racing. He had previously worked at Redmon's in Peru, and was a member of the Wayman A.M.E. Church.

He is survived by his mother; three brothers: Edward (Candace) Burt, Michael (Kathy) Burt, and Willie (Kathy) Burt; and three sisters, Mary Jean Burt, Bobbie Burt, and Betty Sleeper (Burt). Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11am – 1pm on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will follow at 1pm, with Pastor Annettia Brooks-Rankin.
