He was first married to Mildred Arlene Bain (1915-2000) on 18 August 1935 in Des Moines, IA. They were presumably divorced within a few years. He was then married to Gladys Louise Worsley (1920-2010) on 21 July 1939. They relocated to the San Diego, CA vicinity by 1944, and remained there the rest of his life. He died on 12 May 1970 in San Diego, CA at the age of 60. His burial location is unknown at this time, though some family members are interred at Mount Hope Cemetery there.
