Doris was a member of First United Methodist Church since 1954, United Methodist Women, First Stitchers, and Ladies Library Association and needlecraft club. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, as well as traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Doris was the office manager for Jim Gilmore Cadillac Pontiac, Inc. for 18 years, retiring in 1990.
Besides her children, she is survived by ten grandchildren: Michelle (Seth) Bowen of Woodstock, GA; Meghan (Paul) Grybb of Middleburg, FL; Jennifer (Chuck Koone) Ritter of Marion, NC; Michael (Rachel) Ball of Grand Rapids, MI; Jessica Ball of Mountain View, CA; Ryan Ball of Grand Rapids, MI; Nicholas (Emile) Ball of Ferndale, MI; Colleen Doonan of Kalamazoo, MI; Jamie Doonan of Kalamazoo, MI; and Daniel Crislip, of Galesburg, MI.
She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren: Jimmy, Joey, Abigail, Andrew, Breck, Amelia, Gavin, Charlotte, Taylor, and Brady; and one great-great grandchild, Ellianna.
Her sister, Carol Yeiter Brandon of Warsaw, Indiana also survives her.
