Word was received Saturday by Tipton relatives of the death at Gary of Mrs. Grace (Lilly) Garrigus. She died at Gary Saturday morning. Death was caused from a chronic abdominal trouble, she having undergone three operations. One year ago she was in the Mercy hospital at Elwood, with little hope for her recovery but she became able to be up and around and returned to Gary, where her husband is employed in the steel mills.

Mrs. Garrigus, who was the daughter of Edwin W. and Ella (Goins) Lilly, was born in Tipton, about 35 years ago, her father for a number of years being a rural carrier at the Tipton post office. He was also for a time engaged in the insurance and real estate business. The mother died when she was but two years of age and she was taken into the home of an uncle and aunt, Oliver and Theresa Lilly, of Elwood, who reared her as their own daughter. The father's death occurred several years after the mother.
