Rebecca Margene "Beckie" Green Hunter, age 83, of Rome passed away Friday October 29, 2021 at her residence.
Beckie was born on April 27, 1938 in Bartow County, to the late Leonard Green and Ruby Lanham Green. Beckie loved going to Walmart, sewing, cooking, and canning. She worked at Garden Lakes School for many years. She love spending time with friends and family at family get togethers. Beckie never met a stranger and loved everyone. She loved going on family vacations to Florida even though she never got in the ocean because bless her heart she didn't know how to swim. She also took numerous trips to her sons football games in Kentucky when he was in college she never missed one of his games.
Beckie was loved and cherished by so many, she is going to be tremendously missed by so many but she is in the loving hands of the lord and others that has passed before her. She is no longer suffering, no longer in pain, she is walking on the streets of gold pain free and no worries.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Talmadge Foster Hunter, Sr.; daughter: Wanda Logan Grissom; brothers: Harbin Green, and Olin Green; grandchildren Benjamin Ray Logan, and Porter Helms.
Survivors include her children: Talmadge Hunter, Jr., and Rebecca (David Jr.) Cothran; grandchildren: Mitchell Coots, Christina Coots, Jazmine Coots, and Emma Ray Helms; siblings: Bryon (Kathy) Green, Bobby Green, Nina Stanley, Elsie (Joe) Healy, Rosa Matthews, Martha Timms, June Satterwhite, Gail, and Lisa; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday November 1, 2021 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service hour on Monday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome GA. 30165.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen: Tim Samples, Sam Samples, Josh Green, Ben McCain, David Cothran, Eric Kelley.
