Jan Manning, 66, of Redwood Falls, Minn., died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998, in the Redwood Falls Hospital.
Janice Ilene Manning, daughter of Stuart and Vera (Parker) Anderson, was born July 9, 1932, in Redwood Falls.
She lived with her family in Redwood Falls and attended Redwood Falls schools, graduating from Redwood Falls High School in 1950. She attended Glenwood Springs Nurses School.
On Oct. 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to Robert B. Manning in Las Vegas.
They resided in various communities before retuning to Redwood Falls in 1973. Jan worked at the Wishing Well in Redwood Falls from 1975 until 1989. She worked at Johnson's Jewelry and Gift Shop from 1990 until retiring in 1997.
She was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran church. She was active in her church; she was a Sunday school teacher, a lector and she played hand bells. Jan was a member of the American Cancer Society for 20 years and Aid Association for Lutherans for 15 years. She was an avid bridge player, belonged to a sewing club, loved to travel and enjoyed shopping. Jan enjoyed her family and loved her grandchildren.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Joyce Anderson.
Jan is survived by her husband, Robert Manning of Redwood Falls; a daughter, Lynn Manning (Dale) Smith of Toronto, Canada; a son, Paul (Cathy) of Duluth; grandchildren Stuart Manning Smith, Sara Manning Smith and Michael Cody Manning; brothers Bob (Grayce) Anderson of Anaheim, Calif., and Richard (Shirley) Anderson of Redwood Falls.
Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and continuing Monday one hour before the 11 a.m. funeral in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls.
