NASHUA - Vernon Mariton Baldwin, 88, formerly of Nashua, died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998 at Elim Home in Princeton, Minn., of natural causes.

His parents were Jesse M. Baldwin and Ina B. Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin married Caroline B. Scott on Nov. 10, 1940 in Nashua.

Mr. Baldwin delivered fuel for a gas station he co-owned, then in 1945, he purchased a farm near Nashua where he farmed for 19 years until moving to a farm near New Hampton

He is survived by his wife, Caroline; two daughters: Shirley of Fairchild, WI and Verna Rankin of Dayton, MN; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Dale of Nashua; two stepsisters; two stepbrothers.

He was preceded by two sisters: Helen Beck and Florence Chadwick; six brothers: Elmer, Harold, Carroll, Keith, Merle and Robert.

Service will be 11:00 at Little Brown Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Chenoweth & Son are in charge of arrangements.
