Mr. George Robert Johnson, age 88, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021. George was born on May 22, 1933, in Jacksonville to Riley and Anna (Gibbs) Johnson and had lived in Baker County his entire life. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served faithfully during the Korean War. George was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend who enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, playing golf, and traveling.
George was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Glen Johnson; sisters, Margaret Norman and Laverne Dicks; his first wife, Jewell Johnson, and second wife, Ann Knabb.
Survivors include the final love of his life, Geneva Rhoden of Macclenny; sons, Robert Terrol Johnson (Christy) and George Timothy Johnson; daughters, Tina Aschenbrenner (Larry), Joan Johnson (Tim), Susan Yarborough, and Lou Ann Morriss (Robert); grandchildren, Riley, Madde, Tara, and Molly; best friend, Spek Walker; along with other family members and friends.
Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00-1:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel. The family will go in procession from the funeral home to Macedonia Cemetery for a Graveside Service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Woods officiating.
