Richard Ohnheiser Grohman, 81, born on June 20, 1940 in String Prairie, Texas, passed away on October 21, 2021 in Austin, Texas.

Richard was raised in String Prairie and then moved to San Antonio during his grade school years. He graduated in 1958 from Central Catholic High School in San Antonio - 1st in his class. He went to St. Mary's University on scholarship for a year and then transferred to the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'em Horns) and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Physics in 1963.

After graduating from UT the couple moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1963 and had their two daughters, Jenny and Melanie. Rich worked at Goodyear Aerospace until 1971 when he took a job in Austin, Texas for the University of Texas at Applied Research Laboratories as an Electronics Design Engineer. Rich finished out his career working for Texas Instruments and Tracor.

Rich grew up in a house full of country music and musicians and spent many hours listening to them play music. He and his wife enjoyed country and western dancing with their friends on weekends and Rich loved riding Enduro motorcycles and camping in the mountains with friends and family. He and Alice hosted many New Years Eve gatherings and summertime "backyard burger burns" with their cherished friends. Rich loved nothing more than a night full of laughter and jokes over a cold one and a good burger. Rich was a friend to all and never passed up an opportunity to help when his friends or family needed him.

Richard is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alice "Puddle" Grohman, two daughters, Jenny and spouse Derik Pfeffer, and Melanie and spouse, Kris Meier. Three wonderful grandchildren, Patrick, Hayley and Daniel. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Chuck Kauffman, Marilyn Grohman, Estella Nebgen, James Nebgen, Ted Hiesser, Herb and Pat Nebgen.
