Rose Anne Bauer, 87, of Kansas City, passed away October 23, 2021.

Rose Anne was born on January 22, 1934 in Macon, Missouri, to Marvin and Mae (Worth) Kelley. She graduated from Macon High School, after which she moved to Washington, D.C. with a friend to work as a typist for the FBI. She subsequently moved to Topeka and then to Kansas City where she went to work for Southwestern Bell.

Once married, Rose Anne moved to Columbia, MO where she worked and put her husband through school. Her daughters were born in Cedar Rapids, IA and she lovingly made homes for them in Oklahoma City, OK, Clearwater, FL, Framingham, MA, Bedford, MA, Colorado Springs, CO, and finally Kansas City, MO.

As a single mother in her 40s, Rose Anne obtained her associate degree, putting herself through school while raising her two daughters.

Rose Anne retired from the City of Kansas City Aviation Department. She was an avid reader of factual information and loved learning, often enrolling in community education classes and seminars. She was honest, practical, and kept everything. She also enjoyed dancing and visiting the Nelson-Atkins Art Gallery.

Rose Anne was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Theresa Phipps; a brother, James Kelley; a nephew, Jerry Kelley; and grand dogs, Lilly and Lola.

She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Hazlett and Karen Faught (partner, Deanna Andrew); one granddaughter; one niece; a grand niece and grand nephews.

Rose Anne was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Visitation was October 28 at Terrace Park Lakeside Chapel, with service to follow.
Burial will take place at Terrace Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation or Northland Shepherd's Center.
