Albert C. Schreckengost Sr., 90, formerly of Tarentum, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, in Golden Living Center, Murrysville. He was born Oct. 27, 1919, in Natrona, son of the late Albert and Mary C. (Yockey) Schreckengost, and lived his entire life in Tarentum. He was a construction truck driver for 30 years for various area firms. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in France, Germany and Austria. He was of Protestant Faith and was a former member of Tarentum VFW Post 5758. He enjoyed watching sports on TV and fishing. Survivors include his daughter, Judy A. Holben, of Tarentum; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Norman Schreckengost, of Natrona Heights. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Albert C. Schreckengost Jr., Dec.13, 2009; four sisters, Violet Callen, Twila Bowser and two infant sisters; and brother, Samuel Schreckengost. Visitation, services and interment are private.
