MANSFIELD: Ronald Albert Hasse passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital. He was 87.

He was born March 3, 1934 in Saint Joseph, Michigan to parents Albert & Laura Hasse. After he graduated from St. Joe High School, Ronald continued his education at Michigan State University earning a bachelor's degree in accounting. Ronald proudly served his country by joining the US Army and served from 1957 – 1959.

On June 26, 1965, Ronald married Beverly Smith. They were married 56 years until his passing this week.

Ronald retired from Albion Industries after working there for 25 years. He then joined Caster Concepts in Albion and worked an additional 17 years.

Ronald was a kind and gentle soul who had a strong sense of morals. Ron was engaged in many activities including serving as a Boy Scout leader, a volunteer at high school swim meets and helping to plan the Albion Festival of the Forks. Ron was a member of Albion United Methodist Church, Coldwater Methodist Church and once he moved to Lexington Ohio, he attended Church of the Cross. He was a member of the Elks Club in Albion, a Free Mason at the St. Joseph Lodge No. 45, and the Eastern Star. Ronald enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid golfer and tennis player. As a Michigan State graduate, Ronald was a loyal fan of the Spartans and spent many hours cheering on their sports teams. Most of all, Ronald loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife Beverly Hasse; children Dean Hasse of Denver; Becky (Scott) Benjamin of Sunbury and grandchildren Kate, Tyler, and Connor Hasse and Ethan and Nate Benjamin.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by brothers Robert and Russell Hasse.
