Services for Doris Charles Barnes, 62, of Old Lascassas Road, who died Monday, July 17, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Jennings & Ayers with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Revs. Glenn Potts and Doyle Sadler will officiate.

He was the son of the late Emmette and Lela Barnes.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jane Patterson Barnes of Murfreesboro; sons Charles Barnes and Lonnie Barnes, both of Murfreesboro, Doris Barnes of Memphis; daughters Gracie Milliken of Nashville, Dorothy Barnes and Linda Bess, both of Murfreesboro; brothers Wesley Barnes, Leonard Barnes and William barnes, all of Nashville; sisters, Alice Bowman of Nashville, Bernice Gilley of Antioch, Jessie Taylor of Hendersonville; and 10 grandchildren.

A native of Davidson County, he had lived most of his life in Rutherford County. He worked at the W. L. Hailey Construction Co.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
